Oshkosh Public Library’s Board of Trustees has nine members chosen by the mayor and approved by the City Council. One of these members must be the School District Administrator or someone chosen by them. The County Executive can appoint up to two additional members. Regular meetings are scheduled for the last Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. in the library’s lower level meeting room.
Special meetings can be called by the president, secretary, or any two board members. Written notice must be given to all board members at least 24 hours before the meeting.
For any meeting to proceed, at least five board members must be present.
The board hires and guides the performance of the library director, adopts policies and an annual budget, advises on financial matters and advocates for the organization.
