Community Engagement
“Community engagement is the process of working collaboratively with community members — be they library customers, residents, faculty, students or partner organizations— to address issues for the betterment of the community.” (American Library Association).
Why Community Engagement?
Oshkosh Public Library sparks connections between people and information every day. We are dedicated to empowering our community by fostering trust, engagement and collaboration. As a community- focused organization, we aim to inspire and support individuals in creating their own stories and taking action to shape a brighter future for all.
Bring the Library to You
A card clinic is an opportunity to have the library come to your location to sign people up for library cards, answer questions, and listen to community needs.
You can place holds on books, DVDs and more and pick them up at Evergreen Retirement Community, 1130 N. Westfield St . Convenient for anyone who lives, works or shops on the city's west side.
An Oshkosh Public Library book drop is located at Evergreen Retirement Community, 1130 N. Westfield St. Return your library books, movies and music to the drive-up dropbox.
Oshkosh residents unable to visit the library in-person can receive materials through our Home Delivery Service.
Inquire and Inspire: Invite our librarians to give a presentation at your organization's next meeting or event. Learn about the library itself, a local history topic, or a topic that interests you.
In our Roving Reader program, we match library volunteers with area daycares. The volunteers are provided with books and other materials to put on a fabulous storytime!
